Kim Higgins, DO, FAAFP, HPM, HMDC
Dr. Kim Higgins is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has been in private practice since 2010 and brings a wealth of experience and compassion to every stage of her patients' lives. A proud Horned Frog, Dr. Higgins completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University before earning her medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. She went on to complete her residency training at Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
In addition to her primary care training, Dr. Higgins is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and holds the Hospice Medical Director Certification. She works closely with local hospice teams to provide expert end-of-life care, supporting not only patients but also their families through one of life's most meaningful transitions.
Dr. Higgins has a special passion for helping patients improve their health and quality of life through weight management, hormone optimization, and peptide therapy. She is certified in peptide therapy and stays at the forefront of evolving treatment options, including GLP-1 receptor agonists like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, as well as traditional therapies for appetite and weight loss. She believes that healthy weight is the result of whole-body health—when metabolism is balanced, nutrition is aligned, and life is in harmony.
Dr. Higgins is currently preparing for certification in Obesity Medicine and is dedicated to exploring the many root causes and solutions for metabolic health concerns. Whether she is guiding patients through a wellness journey, managing chronic conditions, or walking alongside them in their final days, her goal is always the same: to help each patient live their best life—at whatever stage they are in.
